When I first published The Rabbit with Terrible Habits a few weeks back, I was reluctant to publish a children's book in an ebook format. However, whilst I understand a lot of parents out there believe the whole experience of reading, for a child, revolves around the pleasure of holding a physical book in their hands, there are also parents out there whose lives lean toward the digital world, and with the ever evolving moods of the publishing industry, I realised it would be amiss of me to rule out this option entirely.
I'm also aware that a lot of people with e-readers love, love, love the bargains they can get with e-books, and I wanted the make this an option for my children's titles, too, where possible. So, this week, I spent a day creating a mobi. file for The Rabbit With Terrible Habits. Once I had, I forwarded the file to my own Kindle to check it over, because if I didn't like how it read on there, chances would be that nobody else would either.
Upon opening the book, I found myself surprised, because the book actually reads a LOT better on Kindle than I imagined. The pictures are crispy clear. The font is crispy clear. Everything about it is pleasant to the eye. I even created some shots of the pages as they look on my Kindle so you can see for yourself:
The cover on Kindle.
Page 1 on Kindle
An image only page on Kindle
See? Not so bad at all.
